Ben O. Turnage has more than 45 years of experience in principal investing and operational management across diverse asset classes, delivering strong returns on equity. Since the late 1970s, he has generated substantiated results through direct and indirect investments in private and public markets. His expertise spans real estate, finance, natural resources, energy, media, infrastructure and construction, distribution, manufacturing, technology, agri-foods, and special situations such as distressed assets and turnarounds, with a primary focus in the United States.
Turnage is the founder and chief executive officer of JAMAS Capital Management, a private investment firm specializing in strategic investments. JAMAS sponsors principal investments and transactions across industries, including agri-foods, oil and gas, real estate and development, construction and distribution services. The firm supports both start-ups and mature businesses. Whether deeply distressed, seeking ground-floor sponsorship or growth financing, JAMAS develops the most efficient capital and operational structure needed to drive value creation.
Throughout his career, Turnage has served as president, chief executive officer, board chair, and manager of numerous operating and investment entities. He began his career in real estate and construction, founding Loftin Constructors Inc., the parent company of Roxco Ltd., a leading U.S. prime contracting firm with revenues exceeding $100 million annually, and 15 years of consistent growth and profitability. Loftin also held interests in equipment rental, manufacturing, and real estate investments, and now serves as an investment vehicle.
Turnage is married with three grown children. He is a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Cathedral in Jackson, Mississippi. He believes in giving back to the community and thus supports multiple charities and has established various educational scholarships. In his spare time, Turnage values time with his family, as well as hunting, fishing, and an occasional round of golf.
