As part of the Ben O. Turnage Family Office, JAMAS Capital views philanthropy as an extension of the Turnage Family’s values and a way to build a lasting legacy of positive impact. Our philanthropic efforts reflect our belief in stewardship and long-term investment in people, ideas and communities.
Guided by purpose and responsibility, JAMAS continues to donate to or invest in initiatives that build stronger, more resilient communities for generations to come. Central to the philanthropic efforts of JAMAS are two scholarships, the JAMAS Entrepreneurial Spirit of Mississippi Scholarship and the Gemstone Foods Hispanic Heritage Scholarship.
JAMAS Entrepreneurial Spirit of Mississippi Scholarship
JAMAS Capital Management is proud to offer a scholarship for incoming or current business school students of The University of Mississippi, worth $2,500.
Eligibility
Applicants Must:
- Be currently enrolled in the School of Business Administration (either undergraduate or graduate) at the University of Mississippi or have been accepted into the school. Your focus should be on Entrepreneurship.
- Have and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4-point scale or equivalent.
- Submit a copy of your transcript, your completed application, and your essay by using our online form (see below).
Application Deadline:
Applications are due by midnight Central Standard Time on December 15, 2026.
The 2027 scholarship recipient will be announced by February 15, 2027.

Gemstone Foods, LLC in conjunction with JAMAS Capital Management, is proud to offer the Gemstone Foods Hispanic Heritage Scholarship worth $2,500, designed to support students of Hispanic descent who are pursuing a higher-education degree. Both JAMAS and Gemstone are committed to helping members of our community achieve their educational and career goals, and this scholarship allows us to directly contribute to their financial needs.
