Ben O. Turnage has over 35 years of principal investing and operational management experience across diverse asset classes, producing very attractive returns on equity deployed.

From the late 1970s through today, Turnage has achieved substantiated returns through direct and indirect investments in the private and public marketplace. Turnage’s experience encompasses real estate, finance, natural resources, energy, media, infrastructure & construction, distribution, manufacturing, technology, agri-foods, and opportunistic & specialty situations (e.g., deeply distressed, turnarounds, restructuring and arbitrage) with primary focus in the United States.

Turnage serves as founder and Chief Executive Officer of JAMAS Capital Management, a private investment management firm with a focus on strategic investments. JAMAS sponsors principal investments and transactions across a wide spectrum of industries, including agri-foods, oil and gas exploration and services, real estate and development, construction and distribution services. Transactions range from start-ups to mature businesses. Whether deeply distressed, seeking ground floor sponsorship or financing growth, JAMAS develops the most efficient capital and operational structure needed to drive value creation.

Turnage has served as president, Chief Executive Officer, Board Chair and Manager of numerous operating and investing entities over the last 35 years. His early career began in real estate investing. He founded Loftin Constructors, Inc., a holding company whose primary operating subsidiary was Roxco, Ltd., a general contracting firm. Roxco became one of the preeminent construction firms in the US, with revenues exceeding $100 million per year. The company achieved substantial growth and consistent profit for 15 consecutive years. Loftin also had significant ownership interest in the equipment rental business, manufacturing and various indirect real estate investments. These entities now serve as investment vehicles.

Mr. Turnage is married and has three children. He is a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Cathedral in Jackson, Mississippi. Turnage believes in giving back to the community. As such, he supports multiple charities and has established various educational scholarships. In his spare time, he enjoys time with his family, hunting, fishing and an occasional round of golf.
